One of the best straight to video movies

This movie was not bad. it was a good thriller. I work and Hollywood Video and everybody I have talked to liked it. I hate it when people complain about a movie being bad when it is not. Open your eyes, you need to look at the movie for what it was, a straight to video thriller. You can't expect it to be fantastic (what straight to video movie was?) It was one of the best straight to video movies I have seen, it should have been in theaters.

Well, saying this is one of the best straight-to-video (or DVD) movies is a lot like saying that low-fat mayonnaise is one of the healthiest artery-clogging foods. It's kind of damning it with faint praise. But that's okay. It deserves damning.

And no, it shouldn't have been in theaters. Had it been, it would have done poorly at the box office and would have been eviscerated by critics. Best it was released this way.

I don't know about that - I only know I rented it because of the leads and because of the interesting premise. And they all delivered, this was a tight story, very intense and everibody gave terrific performances, especially Brosnan. In the end I couldn't but admire Abby and sympathize with Tom. 10/10 for this little gem.
When I saw this I had the same satisfaction I had after I watched "Bound" for the first time.

I'll agree with you that the actors delivered in performance with the material they were given. First-rate actors giving the audience the best they could. The problem was (and here we disagree, but that's okay -- it'd be a dull world if we were of one mind) they just didn't have a good script to begin with. Full of plot holes and ridiculous situations nobody could take seriously (well, *I* couldn't anyway, and neither could a whole lot of other folks, as evidenced by this board). But I respect your position. When it comes right down to it, each of us is a film critic. We may not be Roger Ebert or Kenneth Turan, but our opinions deserve just as much respect as theirs.

I'm finding it interesting that there seems to be no middle ground in opinion on this one -- people either love it or hate it. You're the former, I'm the latter.
