Obviously, she was so angry that the risk of her husband jumping off the tower and killing himself to 'save' their daughter never occurred to her or he could've killed the other guy with any weapon at any time. That would've made a much more interesting ending and cutting the whole damn thing short. Then we could spend time watching even more misery from Abby...

I think this was her plan all along, to get him to kill either himself, or the other guy (and then go to jail). Her plan pretty much failed though and now he'll get custody of the kid and she will be out on the street. Christ, what a bitch.
