Wow what a twist!

was i the only one who didn't know abbey was in on it until the end?

some people say they found out when:
"Ryan burnt the money"
"Neil winked at the secretary"

i'll be honest and say it NEVER even came to my mind. either you guys are lying or you have a mind that is like abby's.

I suspected strongly that it was a husband wronged type thing, but I never thought Abby was a part of it! That one threw me for a loop. Let me say, also, that Gerard Butler's acting was amazing! Watching a man like that cry just breaks my heart. Very convincing indeed. I was weary throughout the whole movie, thinking how typical it was (for the most part,) but Abby? Clever ending!

If it can go wrong, it will go wrong.

I thought she was in right after she ran and grabbed the phone from him at the bank. Also, when she told him to go wait in the car, and came out with the briefcase. The fact that we were never shown the actual money being burned was a clear giveaway in my opinion. What reason would there be to not show the contents of the briefcase? Only if there wasn't real money inside. And if there wasn't real money inside, the only person who had access to the briefcase was the wife.

It got to the point where I was watching her every move for tell-tale signs (i.e. she was the one who noticed the cell phone being on the passenger seat, she was sexually harassed a bit, which seemed out of place and reminded me of Deception). I even re-winded the scene mid-film (watched it on Netflix) where her and Ryan were alone after the hotel scene and had some dialogue to see if they said anything that would confirm she wasn't in on it, but their conversation was very vague. For a second, I even thought they intentionally exposed the plot twist when he turned around and gave her what first seemed like a wad of cash (turned out to be a napkin), and she gave him one of those "you hit me too hard" looks.

Anyways, I thought it was a little TOO obvious that she was in on it to the point where I stopped thinking she was, although it was always in the back of my mind, especially after the affair was exposed.

He told them if they called the police, Abby would die. You never call the cops if you're being held up. Are you slow or something?? The couple did the right thing. You're just lying about knowing the twist. Ugh people now a days.

Yeah, 'wow what a twist', made a bad movie worse, for who cares? I sure didn't. Everything from the start was just too over the top and silly, and jealousy as a motive is so boring.

I knew right from the very beginning that she was in on it because the audience did not hear the daughters voice. What is common in every kidnapping movie? Hearing the voice of the kidnapped person sob over the phone for effect.

From that very moment, I knew. Everything that happened after only made me more suspicious. Being so adamant about not letting him call the police, getting the money "for him" which is ridiculous. You telling me he wouldn't want to make absolutely sure that all the money is the in case before giving to the criminal? A single dollar less and his child could be killed.. I would count the money like a mad man.

Having his wife talk to the receptionist without Gerard listening (the receptionist supposedly said that the child was seen) that was another big giveaway.

The part that also rubs me the wrong way, is why doesn't Gerard check if the gun is loaded? Thats the first thing most people would do. None of this really adds up.

I can't believe anyone could possibly fall for this.. but really my issue is that we don't know anything about Maria Bello's character, and what we do know about Gerard's character makes us not care.
