You have no pride as a man if you enjoyed this.

Somehow a movie more emasculating than Chaos Theory was made. Pretty shocked to be honest. Didn't think it was possible.

Like the bit where he even apologized at the end. In real life it would have ended with her slowly being choked to death.

Men always apologise in films when the woman does something wrong like cheat on him.
It's part of modern feminised media. This film was less emasculating that most out there.

reply

Listen to these butt hole men. It's OK that women have been suppressed since time began. We get a few movies that let us "win" and we are evil feminists. Even though the movie was written, produced, and directed by a man. Oh the hilarity of these guys. Really.

reply

Grow up boys. If a work of fiction is enough to make you feel less of a man maybe you weren't one to begin with.

It really annoys me that when any film shows a women having the upper hand over a man (rightly or wrongly), a bunch of sad little losers start moaning about how emasculating everything is.

(BTW this is only directed to the overly sensitive whiners, not men in general)

reply

I'm a man and enjoyed this...until the second twist. As a film, I thought that it really wasn't needed. There could have been a better way to combine the twist if needed.

So you think if a woman wrongly gets the upper hand we should accept it?
You're calling men over sensitive but the reason men in films don't argue back, always get hit by women but never stands up for themselves, portrayed as idiots and always shown up by women is because of insecure over sensitive women demanded that there actually be rules on how women are portrayed in media.
To show so called strong women they have to be violent, always right and show a man up ALL the time from children's shows to Hollywood.
This sexist boo men yay women attitude has to stop or we'll have more man hating hypocrites like you in the world.

Gambit...

Holy crap man, are you serious??

To take women in film having some sort of dominance so personally is shocking.

I have never even noticed this issue that you're so hurt by. In fact, before reading the threads, I didn't even take notice of it in this film. How does your mind focus on such inconsequential things??

reply

The way society is now, that's just showing real life. If women hit men, the man is in trouble for LEGALLY hitting back. It's pathetic. The woman being weaker is no excuse when she hits first. Maybe women should grow up and stop hitting if they don't want to be hit back.

You can like a movie while not liking a character. But, seriously, this had almost the worst acting I've ever seen. Surprising for a movie with big names. I still gave it a 6 because if a movie is entertaining at all, I overlook everything else being bad, enough to give it a decent rating. But had the acting been better and the overall presentation been better, this had some good elements and twists.... Like the movie Trance, it had so many pieces to a good movie and then messed it up. In Trance they threw so many twists it got hilariously dumb, whereas this one they just didn't act very well and the overall feel to it was low budget.

Well, I guess Neil coming off as a total jerk and unlikeable... that was good acting. But just the line delivery was usually bad by everyone and the whole movie seemed like people mumbling their lines. Maybe that was due to something about the channel and wouldn't sound that horrible on Blu-ray...

Btw, I didn't predict any of the main couple twists, although did predict a twist within a twist that ended up true.

A real man wouldn't cheat on his wife. Bottom line. It's a shame he didn't get killed by some facet of that adventure. I'm sure she left that pathetic moron after all of this.

reply

So, if it had proceeded differently and he'd murdered his wife at the end, that would have given you some pride 'as a man'? To say that's a disturbing sentiment would be putting things mildly.

Awwww! A movie hurted your male pride? Poor little thing!

How about you actually grow some balls? I found the movie quite balanced, people often forget that (while it focused on the character of Gerard Butler), the revenge was directed towards Pierce Brosnan's wife as well, she cheated TOO, and for a moment she thought she was actually gonna die.
