I only just started watching these movies...

OK so you either love Saw or you hate Saw. I've never met anyone who straddled the fence on these movies. I love them.

But they aren't what I expected. As horror goes, they're pretty trite, but if you take away the horror context, they're pretty damn good. After I finally got around to watching these, they were far from what I was expecting. I don 't see horror films here. This is some "Criminal Minds" shit, and I love it for that, since I'm a big CM fan. A little over-the-top in its kills, yes (actually a LOT over the top in its kills), but the premise is the same. I'm sure it'll change the game at some point, and maybe I'll change my tune, but for now, I'm digging it.
