Ending discussion (spoilers obv)
I guess we are left to make our own choice whether he gets away with it again or not
shareIt was clear Ted would lose (now that the gun switch was revealed and, presumably, the final revelations were secretly recorded) and the ending shot was to show Willy hadn’t walked away after all and was back to seeking justice as a lowly public prosecutor with his morals intact.
There’s something weird about that shot, though, like it was taken from a deleted scene earlier in the film, and maybe they just filmed a new judge. It just fades out too quickly, and Hopkins glances at the camera just before blackout.
