"I like him."
Plenty of people have pointed out plenty of holes in this silly movie, and god knows there are holes aplenty for everyone. Here's one more: When a prosecutor is to be assigned to the case, Crawford says of Willie, "I like him." The judge backs him up, turning to Willie and saying, "Mr. Beachum, he likes you." Now why on earth would the judge do that? Since when are the likes and dislikes of the defendant factored into the choice of a prosecuting attorney? One more ridiculous moment in a movie that over and over strains credibility way past the breaking point.
