'Psychopath'?

I don't like that Det. Flores called Crawford a psychopath. That's entirely wrong. He's a murderer, but not an unjustified one. Not that killing his wife was right - he certainly should not have passed his own final judgment on a wayward spouse. But he also did not kill her simply to kill someone like a true psychopath. I wonder why the movie did not have us sympathize with him more? Crawford is a likeable guy - intelligent, calm, rich (wealth that one suspects was earned using smarts and not inherited)and probably a decent if not devoted husband. And i have no doubt that before arriving at his plan to kill his wife and frame Nunally, he cried many tears when he found out about Jennifer's infidelity.

I disagree. You're defending murder. Murderers are by definition psychopaths.

Murderers are by definition psychopaths.

Good news is: you're both wrong. Bad news is: you're wrong too, mate.

Psychopaths are people who are afflicted by a mental disorder. There are a lot of murderers who kill for many different reasons and who are not mentally ill, let alone psychopaths. So "by definition", nope.

Try to make sense next time, especially when attempting to correct me.

Psychopaths are people who are afflicted by a mental disorder.
So? Are you presuming that I'm claiming that all psychopaths commit murder? Again: make sense.

There are a lot of murderers who kill for many different reasons and who are not mentally ill, let alone psychopaths.
"Kill" or "murder"? Be clear. And give us examples of people who "kill" intentionally and aren't psychotics.

You're about as bad as the other guy at pop psychology, friend.

A "true psychopath" is not just someone who kills people without any apparent motivation.

Psychopathy is a mental disorder with a lot of symptoms and no cure. Not all psychopaths murder people and those who do don't always kill strangers without motive.

Crawford is a likeable guy

Are you serious? He's a class A *beep* with a massive ego, a condescending attitude towards everyone. At best he's a Narcissist but he's probably a psychopath

intelligent, calm, rich (wealth that one suspects was earned using smarts and not inherited)

Being smart and rich automatically makes you likable?

and probably a decent if not devoted husband

Decent as in... he wasn't beating her or?

And i have no doubt that before arriving at his plan to kill his wife and frame Nunally, he cried many tears when he found out about Jennifer's infidelity.

There is absolutely no reason to believe that. He kills her not in the heat of passion, or with regret, but in a cold calculated manner and with one aim only: to repair the injury made to his ego by her wife cheating on him.
