Odds of that particular cop getting the call.

While I understand that the guns were switched, but how did Hopkins character know this exact cop would be the one who answered the call where he could re-switch guns? In a city like LA, there are a hundred or more detectives who could have responded. The odds of the lover/cop being the responding officer are large, I think.

Plus he had all that free time to sit in the courtroom. What about doing his job? No other crimes happening in the city?!?

'No offense' means I'm about to insult you, but don't get mad.

He wasn't a regular detective. He was a hostage negotiator. Which is why Hopkins created a hostage situation by firing shots through the glass with a witness near by. I'm sure it wouldn't have been that hard for Hopkins to figure out his shift, and what area's he worked etc. And I'm willing to guess there aren't that many hostage negotiators.

I think so, too. Also, he had phoned previously, when outside the resort and was told Nunally came on duty at 6 pm. If Ted's home was in that precinct, that is who they would send.

Thanks, that point had escaped me. Still, there are several plot hole in this story, however, it is still entertaining to me.
