is this movie really bad...

...or is it a case of people reading the book, then seeing the movie, realising it's not identical to the book and giving it a 7 max on imdb? Because except for the LOTR, I have a feeling it's always the same. Like by default people give 7 to movies based on books.

I agree, I basically had to force myself to finish watching this movie. It just lagged. A large part of the movie was about getting an actor to cut off his beard. Weather or not that happens in Hollywood is beside the point the movie really only had two conflicts Bruce Willis's beard and an idiot director who should have known the shooting of a dog(mans best friend)would probably not be accepted very well. Movies that have obvious solutions but drag them out to fill the full hour and a half usually suck ie. this movie.

ARE YOU KIDDING?
the godfather is based on a book.
no country for old men is based on a book.
goodfellas is based on a book.
about 60 % of good films are adapted screenlpays,
what you mean is like harry potter and pictures like these that are not made to be good pictures, they're made to make money.
so i guess if this movie is rated 7 it probably is not that good.

This was supposed to be a comedy. It was boring & meaningless. When was the last time De Niro made a decent film?

i'm a huge "entourage" fan, and for some reason i thought it'd be anthing like it, but unfortunately it was really, really boring and pointless. there are some funny scenes, but even those start dragging after a while.

reply

Yes it's bad. I didn't even know it was based on a book.

For the record I don't base anything off of others opinions...but I must say even though I LOVE Deniro and had high hopes for this movie, I was constantly awaiting some huge climax or at least something!

Like the previous poster says, it really does seem like the whole movie is stretched with the darn dog and beard drama...

I was very shocked when the movie just seemed to end prematurely!

At the risk of sounding cheesy this movie left me saying, ahhhh what just happened....

DeNero has gone the same way as Michael Caine.....do anything for the money and keep your face on the screen. This latest 'effort' is simply *beep*
