I think the music was good, and a lot of the acting was good also. For people like me that are not in the industry, it gave you a look from the side of a prodcuer, what goes on and what he/she deals with. But overall it was uneven, and could not decide if it was a comedy, or a drama. Some scenes I aked myself why, and others I wanted to see more (Every sceene, in fact, that had the actor that plalyed the director).
I'm going to guess and say that it was a script that had been sitting around since, maybe the 80's or 90's, and then got worked on as is, instead of updating it a bit: (1) Robert and Robin in counsleing for their marriage (most don't really get married anymore) (2) the fact that Robin had no career of her own that I saw (very dated), and a lady hit on Robert in the men's room (dated, too. Not sure why her part was needed at all as it does not advance the plot or provide information).
Also troubling to me was that Robert was running around and seemed to have no control over anything (maybe I don't understand what a producer does. I thought they wrote the checks and paid for things, and had a great deal of power? He did many things, but none of them well, or so it appeared.
The editing was very good, and it had brght spots as to performance (when they showed how the director took his own outakes, and recut the end of the film. Steller in that room!).
