Best Male Makeover Movie

There are many movies in which many normal girls turn into pretty by makeover.
but I think this is the best male makeover movie, that a nerdy guy change into handsome hunk.

any one agree.

Oh yes!
Tristan is gorgeous!

haha - very true! you get loads of nerdy girls turning into hot girls and geeks turning 'cool', but i think this film is the best example of a very 'ordinary', simple, person turning 'extraordinary'.

good comment OP, one of the nicer ones i've read recently after witnessing the extend of the insanity and stupidity present on the IMDB boards.

Anyone can change with a montage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIi0vFyqWAc

Yeah I loved Tristan's makeover too. The transformation was simply amazing!

I do have one question though. How is it that one minute Captain Shakespeare was cutting Tristan's hair very short and the next minute his hair grew to shoulder length? Is there an explanation to this? Did I miss something?

reply

I always thought he just gave him a wig and cut the hair short so that it would fit better.

I just assumed it was magic, and then it was added for comedic effect... plus to explain how he gets long hair.

Magic, or hair extensions. XD If you watch that scene closely, there's a very quick cut from a shot of Tristan with his short hair, to the shot where it's suddenly down to his shoulders, and Tristan looks down at it, gives a little start of surprise, then shrugs it off. I think it's quite funny. :)

I completely agree that the transformation was amazing, incredible what different hair and a nice coat can do for somebody! Charlie is adorable and I like him both pre and post-transformation these days, but when I initially watched the film I'd never seen him before, and until he got the long hair, I was sat there wondering why they didn't cast Ben Barnes as Tristan because he was so much more attractive, lol. Then you see Tristan sat onboard the ship with his new look, and I swear the entire female section of the audience sat bolt upright with their mouths open!

The mirror... it's broken.
Yes, I know. I like it that way. Makes me look the way I feel.

I liked his 'personality' makeover, but I seem to be in the minority when I say that I preferred his looks as a 'geek' to 'hero'.

COMPLETELY AGREE! When I was watching this, I was wondering why didn't they get Barnes who plays his young Dad to play Tristan instead. But when he had that transformation, WOWZA! It was the 2nd time (the 1st was when they showed Casper the ghost in his human form) I screamed along with other girls in the theatre!

I'm reminded of that parody movie 'Not Another Teen Movie' where they were making fun of the many typical teen cinderella type films, where beautiful girls in a ponytail & glasses, get glamoured to represent beauty in their transformation. But this movie actually does it very very well, I don't recall any other movies that's as successful as the transformation done here.
