What was it that the mother gave to Tristan at the coronation?
Why were Humphrey and Victoria doing at the coronation? Did English inhabitants start going to the Fairie world after that old guy got mad and quit guarding the opening in the fence?
The mother gave Tristan and Yvaine a Babylon candle, similar to the one he used to get travel to Stormhold at the start of the movie and escape from the Inn.
Most of the inhabitants of the village of Wall (including the former guard) were at the coronation. We just have to assume that since Tristan became King he forged a relationship between Wall (maybe even the rest of England) and Stormhold.
---We will rule over all this land and we will call it... This Land.---
In the book there is semi regular communication and trade between the two worlds. Victoria and Humphrey were likely guests as all members of the village of wall.
There was some kind of connection between Humphrey and Captain Shakespeare at the end. They both winked at each other. I have wondered about that for a long time. Did they know each other, or were they hitting on each other? I figured they invited Victoria to annoy her lol. She never thought Tristan was good/rich enough for her and she ended up with Humphrey, when the whole time Tristan was a prince, and if she hadn't been so conceited, she could have been queen.
I wondered why people from the Wall were there too. It just seemed strange when it had been such a taboo thing before. I guess it makes sense that with Tristan becoming the King of Stormhold he forged a new relationship between the realms but all of that has to be inferred. I guess the book probably explains that better but I haven't read it.
I thought the look between Shakespeare and Humphrey was a nod that Humphrey is actually gay? Although honestly that seems a dumb thing to add in when he seemed so intent upon courting Victoria. It just seemed like another way to make Victoria a loser in the end, although I think just having those two looking annoyed would have worked out because we could still imagine they end up unhappy. Instead the film implies Humphrey is closeted and it just seemed random (and I think another implication that Victoria will end up completely unhappy).
