Frak
Am I the only one who was surprised that there was no reference to Battlestar Galactica and the substitute f-word, "frak"?

You do not have the right to not be offended.

Yes.
Yes!
shareThis film was made before BSG became a cultural icon, but it's such a perfect example. There are people who even get upset at the use of frak because "we know what it's supposed to mean".

the BSG FRAK became popular around 2006 so on. after this movie was made.
they used frak consistantly around season two
and not in the miniseries nor in season one.
so you are anachronistic.
They also used the word "frak" constantly in the original "Battlestar Galactica" series back in 1978. (They also said "Felgergarb" for $h*t, but thankfully, that word wasn't resurrected for the remake)
shareYes, only nerds would know about this.
shareIt was spelled "frack" and it was not a substitute for the word *beep* (but instead substituted for milder words like damn or *beep* ALSO its usage was censored by the TV Network who wanted a family-friendly show. It was used in the first pilot movie, and never again, so it never became part of public consciousness.
I thought it was spelled 'frak' back in the original series, because I have seen it printed 'frak' in material printed when the franchise was first released. Wikipedia does contradict and say it was spelled 'frack' in ToS, but that it was spelled 'frak' for the new series. Basically all material I've read (which, admittedly, hasn't been for 30 years) about the use of 'frak' has always been 'frak' except for the wikipedia article.
Now when you talk about censorship for a TV network, are you referring to the original or the new series?

All complaints about my post go to Helen Waite.
It amazes me you couldn't figure this out on your own. ???. The movie was released in 2005, probably made several months earlier in 2004, and thus predated Sci-Fi Channel's version of "frak" in BSG.
