When people say that the Harriet and Matt relationship was stupid and weak, you're not thinking of it the right way.
Harriet= conservative, religious, politically correct, etc.
Matt= liberal, atheist, politically incorrect, etc.
They are two sides of the spectrum that come together.
It's like Peet and the other guy. Peet wants to push the envelop a little more and the other guy wants to keep it the same it's always been.
Just my opinion.
The entire show was brilliant and I'm really pissed that it was cancelled.
I heard they told Matthew to be as abrasive as Matt ends up being, which I'm sorry makes him less likable than he needs to be. It just makes him look like a jerk toward Harriet. She doesn't actually need a good argument to be sympathetic. That means doing much with her actually has the potential to make it worse. There's a difference between Matt, the anti-hero, and Matt the horse's butt.
