Series ending help

im halfway through the season and just would like to know (spoiler free) if the ending is satisfying? did they know it was their only season? did it wrap everything up or leave you hanging like some shows?

They saw the writing on the wall, and there isn't much left hanging.

I loved the ending would have loved it even more if it hadn't ended. Great show!

The short answer is that they tied everything up. I just finished re-watching it all on DVD, but I remember from watching it live that they knew it was over and did not want to leave us hanging.
