Did you guys think that Brad's character Danny was too much like Josh

I know how to argue this because the transition for Bradley was not nearly as different as it was for Matthew's character Matt from Chandler. Plus Matt had two years off from Friends unlike Bradley who went straight from TWW to S60. Another thing to consider is Matt came from a sitcom, Bradley came from a dramedy already so the characters of Danny are similar to his Josh Lyman. The biggest transition definitely belongs to Perry on this one. I think some people tend to forget that when the judge the show.

I didn't think the characters were at all alike, aside from their devotion to their jobs. They came at that from vastly different places. Josh was from a world of hurt and wanted to fix things. Danny was an addict and everything for him was like that; thats why the stalkerish story worked, he was so obsessive. Could you imagine Josh with failed marriages? He would never be as impulsive as Danny.

First off, I love Studio 60 and West Wing (Sports Night, A Few Good Men, An American President). I have literally watched the entire season several times, in order. I’ve watched it so many times that I can almost do the dialogue along with the actors.

I think you have a valid point that is likely unavoidable when the same writer is writing for the same actor. In fact, there is even a line said by both Danny Tripp and Josh Lyman. “This isn’t going to end well” is said in the first season of West Wing, The State Dinner, and Studio 60, B-12.

I’m not sure if my recognizing this is a sad statement on my life, but…

There’s also a joke that used in both Wing and 60; my Wife pointed it out. It’s the Jewish Mother Joke.

Also, the transition with Perry was probably not difficult because of his time on the West Wing. In fact, I believe the chemistry between Whitford and Perry was a big part of them being cast.

I think that Danny and Matt's friendship was so good on the show was because of their real friendship in real life. Just my opinion.

NO ONE WILL BE WATCHING US WHY DON'T WE DO IT IN THE ROAD?
