I'm not really sure why, but I can't stand Amanda Peet in this show. Her deliveries are always at the same volume and she is sooooo incredibly smug. And my god does she ever blink? Her eyes are always so wide open but she speaks so softly. Like I said I am not really sure why I don't like her. I really just don't like the cut of her jib.
shareI like Amanda Peet well enough, but she doesn't have the "it" to pull off that character. I don't know what that "it" is, but I feel like someone with more gravitas needed to play that character.

Oh no! ;-) I absolutely adored her in this! Before I saw STUDIO 60 for the first time (about 8 months ago), I'd seen Peet in everything. Enjoyed her in SEINFELD, WHOLE 9 YARDS, IGBY GOES DOWN. But it wasn't until her performance in this that I pretty much fell in love with her. Her character, and how well she portrayed her. i thought she was magnificent.
Everytime I catch Simon Helberg on BIG BANG THEORY, I can't help but get a little mad at how much his talent (and he does have talent) is wasted there. His impressions of Tom Cruise and Nicolas Cage are brilliant! ;-)

She's terrible. She can't act. Why she was ever cast.... I can only think 'Casting couch'.
What I never got was the immediate flip-flop Amanda's character Jordan experienced. They were toasting her in the pilot because of her amazing success at previous jobs and they knew she had a reputation for shaking things up and getting results.
Then she wants to hire Matt & Danny and suddenly everyone seems to hate her spunk and go-get-em attitude. That's what they hired her for!!

Their conflict with Jordan arose from turmoils associated with her personal life that were not vetted until her ex-husband leaked details from his tell-all book. These difficulties were compounded when she punted the interview with TIME Magazine.
