Quite possibly the greatest show I've ever seen.

Yeah, I know, you'll say, "You need to watch more shows then."
But damn it, everything about this show was top of the line, amazing writing, acting, comedic timing. Just fabulous all around. I never wanted it to end.

This is the best show, hands down, that Matthew Perry has ever done. I rewatch it every now and again, and always with mixed feelings. I love the show because it is brilliant, but am saddened knowing there is only one season.

They are bringing back Arrested Development (another brilliant show) after being off the air for six years. I really hope something like this would happen with Studio 60.

Seriously, an extremely spectacular show.

I wholeheartedly agree that this is the best thing Matthew Perry has done, period. I think the combined trio of Aaron Sorkin/Bradley Whitford/Matthew Perry is untouchable. I've rarely seen dialogue and comedic timing nailed so perfectly. Have you ever seen Sports Night? I've heard nothing but good things, but haven't given it a chance yet.

I agree, too, that Sorkin / Whitford / Perry chemistry is wonderful.

I've always like Matthew Perry so I was happy to see him star in a show I like (having never been hooked on Friends).

Sports Night is worth watching. But when you do, keep in mind that it was screened in the late 1990s and (I think it is fair to say) Sorkin was still experimenting with his craft, particular applying it to TV. But you'll see him experimenting with themes and ideas which he later perfected on the West Wing and Studio 60.

Look out for the character which is, quite clearly, an early attempt at Joshua Lyman.

Such a great set. I really hope we get to see these three together again. This show failing was criminal. I would love to see this combo take another run at something. Pure brilliance

Mathew Perry appeared in the last few episodes of The Good Wife as a villain character. I imagine he'll have a recurring role next season. Check it out if you enjoy his dramatic acting.

5. For a show about a comedy show, we saw almost none of the comedy show.<<

I understood that to be the premise before it aired, and the stuff they did show was mostly in rehearsal and was either not used or fixed. I actually was surprised at the amount and thought they showed too much of it.

I think that was why it failed to get the audience. They were expecting more comedy and the show was not about that. Had some funny moments for sure, but many people went in expecting a completely different show.

I agree. It was not needed and was only used, IMO, to remind us they were making a comedy show. I would have been fine with less. The show was about the characters, not the show they made.

Had they picked something other than a sketch show behind the scenes the show probably would have done much better. Probably didn't help that I think it was marketed as more comedy than it was

I knew going in what it was and was quit happy with it. But I guess many were expecting a zany "Chandler" show
