Episode 6 "The Wrap Party"

Tom's out-of-touch, conservative parents from the isolated backwater known as Columbus, Ohio- what the hell, Sorkin?

"In the future, if you're wondering, 'Crime. Boy, I don't know' is when I decided to kick your ass."

I spent many years in Columbus, and I think it's a great city. That said, even Columbus residents make fun of it being a "cow town." There's a reason some residents refer to it as "Cowlumbus."

Don't take it too seriously.

Yes, there are people like that all over. But, if you know Mr. Sorkin's work this is just an extension of Dan's father in Sports Night. Both Tom and Dan had issues with their parents because of a brother; when Dan's father visited the studio he didn't care to see it (it was bigger than the old one), didn't understand cable networks, and didn't want a front row seat to the fight.

My son met someone recently who didn't know "Who's on First?" and we're on a coast.

Maybe Sorkin or someone he is close to, has a similar relationship with his parents
