Simon reaaly does treat Darius like a field.....

I understand that Simon is teaching Daruis about the struggles of being black in hollywood but he really does mistreat him and treat him exactly the way Darius feels(as he puts it in a way I wont). But think about it, Simon constantly holds it over his head that he plucked him off the streets and gave him a better life. And that he better conduct himself the way Simon wants, he better do the work(sketches) that Simon wants. Think about it more and when Darius is hired, Simon is disgusted because the only black writers he can find are "too black"(save for Darius), then he turns around and demands darius work on a stereotypically "black militant" sketch when darius doesn't want to write it cause it's "too black", Simon calls him an Uncle Tom. What a hypocrite, Darius wants to work on things that aren't a black stereotype and you're giving him crap for it because you saved him and he owes you.

The way Darius puts it is exactly right and Simon is a hypocrite and an a-hole.

Dead on. And I didn't really care for D.L. Hugley in this role. His timing wasn't great and it always seemed like he was reciting a response from a script which he was but that's where "ACTING" is supposed to take over. The guy that played Darius might have been better.

Simon made it very clear that Darius was free to turn down anything Simon suggested. He just didn't think that he should turn down an opportunity to write about Black issues in spite of the fact that Simon got him to agree that he would never let him down while they were both working there. Simon got him a job on a prestigious show when his comedy career was circling the drain. He did owe him big time, but the larger issue was the fact that he also owed every other Black person who helped to pave the way for him to advance in Hollywood and by refusing to take part in anything that was Black oriented with Simon just because that was the orientation, not because it was a bad idea, was disloyal at the very least. Simon was anything but a hypocrite and the last episode makes that crystal clear.
