Was Hugh Jackman jealous of Christian Bale in this movie?
felt like it
shareWhy? Both are highly successful actors in their own right.
shareYou clearly missed the point... Jackman is only a showman and needs Caine to come up with his tricks. Bale is a true magician and that pisses Jackman off.
shareI think OP is thinking of the characters they portrayed here, rather than the actors themselves, but can't remember the names of the characters.
shareThey were jealous of each other:
Jackman was jealous that Bale was a legit magician, while he was only an illusionist. And no matter what great trick he was able to come up with, Bale could always top it. Including in the end.
Bale was jealous of Jackman's showmanship, and no matter how great the tricks he came up with, he couldn't present them as well as Jackman could, thus he would always be the bigger the star. Also half of him was jealous that he had Olivia.
Not only all that, but Angier was also jealous that Borden had a family which he felt should've been his.
shareYou're talking about the characters not the actors themselves. Right?
shareHe (Jackman) thought of him as low.
shareIs this question about the characters or the actors?
