I did too.

I especially like all the jokes concerning the British colonialism, "exploit us economically?".

Even though it was a recipe movie, it has something a little new and there were actual morals to learn in the movie. Don't have to live up to your father's stories, you can do anything you put your mind to, don't let other people take you down, class levels, and so on, on not only the social level but from a global level (colonialism over Ireland and India).

Heh, I can't help it. I've taken one too many culture/media analysis classes.
