I am sure most people who talk about the book have never read it.
My belief applies to fans and haters. Whenever I ask the question directly, I get a hesitant "yes". Whenever I bring up plot points, scenes ,concepts eyes go blank and answers are vague.
I am not convinced the people who produced these movies actually read the book.
