Sam eye colour

Am I mistaken or does Sam's eye colour change? When he 'wakes up' from being knocked down his eyes are blue, the rest of the time they seem brown/greenish.

I'm watching Doctor Who right now and his eyes are doing that, so I think it's just John Simm. You're not mistaken though because I see it too.

Come on, Tom. Let's finish this the way we started it: together!

I think his eyes are a really dark hazel, rather than fully brown, making them look greeny in certain conditions.

Slightly off topic, but it really bugged me how the producers gave Sam two blue-eyed parents and even a blue-eyed kid actor to play young Sam! Small oversight but it could have been so easily avoided...

Hm, I'd definitely say they are not dark hazel (I'm having dark hazel eyes myself so I guess I should know what they look like and they never look greeny). In the title sequence and in close-ups his eyes look green but it's not always easy to make out his eyes colour (I know someone with green eyes and on some pics they look a bit brown, or even quite dark - I guess it has to do with the light).

Yeah I noticed both of his parents were played by blue-eyed actors (Lee Ingleby was fantastic as Vic Tyler I'm glad they didn't choose anyone else) and the kid in the football-episode had blue eyes if I'm not mistaken. They surely could have chosen another kid and maybe another mother too (though her nose did resemble his a little bit), or at least given her contact lenses, 'cause in series 2 you can see Sam's aunt (his mother's sister) and she has green eyes, that would imply he's got his looks from his mother's side of the family.
