Did they really exist or were they made up by Vic Tyler. Gene says as much at one point, but I'm sure he also says that the Mortons had an alibi for the shootings in the club where they found Vic hiding...

I have just watched this episode yesterday and I thought they were made up by Sam's father.
Seems like I missed the part Gene mentioned their alibi.I need to rewatch that part.
