To me Gene Hunt sounds like a Manc. But, I'm not from Manchester. What is it like?

I'm from Manchester, and I'd say his accent is pretty spot on really.

I am from Manchester and his accent does sound the same as a lot of people I know. There are some words which when he delivers make him sound from further up north than Manchester but I would say his accent sounds Mancunian :)
