Anybody needing explanatory evidence should watch the 1970s BBC sitcom Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads, where Bob Ferris (played by Rodney Bewes) has to explain the lads' scoring system from their dating days to his fiancee, Thelma (Brigit Forsyth). I think it was in Episode 5 of Season 1 (titled I'll Never Forget Whatshername).
