UGH! where's the originality???

This is just one of those movies when you wonder, "Did they just make this movie because they were bored one day and making a movie sounded like fun???"

I thought this movie was such a waste of time, energy, and funds. By the time I got 30 minutes into it, I was more than ready to turn it off! I couldn't find one single MOMENT of originality in this entire movie.

The script is weak. Period. I'm not a big fan of movies that have no meaning and don't go anywhere during the film. It seemed like a story that could have been told in 15 minutes that was elongated for the movie. Sometimes that method works, but this movie just seemed to have stretched out, lengthy, and pointless scenes. Nothing ever really happened, never went anywhere. Some may argue that the movie had a good "message" or "moral" at the end: "bad things happen to bad people." Please.....give me a break. I need a little more than an elementary school level moral.

It's so stereotypical. So much so that you cannot get past that fact. The script, the execution, the characters, the dialogue, everything was garbage IMO. The characters are typical in the way they act, dress and speak. Every situation that presents itself is so cliche and thus, the results of said situations are cliche. I've seen this same scenario, with this same type of ignorant character way too many times now. Everything was so predictable it was sad.

You know how a good movie will make the audience feel some type of emotion. You connect with the character in the movie, and you feel their 'pain' or 'triumphs' (so to speak). Not so in this movie. I didn't feel a single emotion throughout the movie except for disgust that it was still playing on my TV. I think this is mostly b/c the unknown actors don't really know how to act. So I guess we really can't expect them to portray a feeling on screen.

The dialogue is atrocious. If I had to hear that girl say "custies" (when referring to her customers) one more time. The sound of her voice saying that same line over and over throughout the movie made my ears damn near bleed. Just a poor choice in verbiage. I appreciate the use of slang terminology, but there was so much slang it was difficult to understand. Shouldn't need a translator to watch this kind of movie. I felt throughout the movie that all the talking just fell flat. Mostly speaking just to fill movie time & hear themselves speak. I would have much rather listened to Charlie Brown's teacher speaking (whaa, whaa, whomp).

I think it was filmed poorly too. There are some good angles, and a few good shots, however, as a whole I think it looks cheaply filmed. Was it filmed on a hand held personal camcorder? I mean, c'mon.

Those are just a few reasons why I couldn't stand the movie. After the halfway mark my husband and I just couldn't stop cracking jokes about how bad this movie was. We were really disappointed considering we'd heard good things about the movie..... such a shame.
