yeah I felt sad when Stewart died, the poor guy attempted to stop the train and barely received any sympathy or appreciation for his attempt and eventual death...although we did see some of the other characters looking sad and shocked for a moment too, but nothing more than that basically.
When Stewart's locomotive blew up you could hear a reporter saying "woah I can't believe how crazy that was" in such a bland and monotone voice, like it was just a plain old regular day on the job for him, I felt like ringing that stupid reporter's neck! Someone just died trying to stop a out of control train and here is this stupid reporter sounding so bored!
Then again reporters are typically so monotone when they report news no matter how serious the news are.
Maybe a special memorial for Stewart was held off-camera and they just didn't show it in the movie? Who knows...
