Just a "[INSERT NAME HERE] Movie" for people that gets the references to 50's holywood

isn't this movie just a bunch of nods and homages to 50's hollywood just as all the "[INSERT NAME HERE] Movie"'s does with pop culture references? I know josh brolin had some storyline, but in the end it was stretched so thin with all the "homages" to 50's hollywood.

The homage to 1950s Hollywood were the only things in the movie worth watching.

Or maybe you find meetings about how to put religious issues into movies entertaining?
