Has Stephen Collins done anything to land him in jail?

What exactly did he do that was criminal? He lied to Cal. So what? Lying to the newspaper is hardly a criminal offense. He had somebody follow his mistress. So what? If Bingham killed Sonia because Bingham is nuts, how does that come back to get Collins arrested?

Doesn't it seem like Collins can simply explain this away and make it look like he was secretly working to uncover Sonia's ties to Point Corp? He could even explain away the affair by indicating that it was done to get Sonia to trust him.

Can't Affleck's character come out of this looking like a hero? Or am I missing something?

If he destroyed all evidence connecting him to hiring the crazy guy (hard with the mobile I suppose), the dead crazy guy and his loyal wife cant/dont testify or confess. Hell I dont think he even PAID the crazy guy (who owed him a favour and had his OWN motivations for his actions). So no money trail. Little evidence.

I cant really see him going down for anything. I mean, baseless allegations based on a tenous military connection in the past and an off the record, last hour confess all to a reporter. Thats all, allegations in a newspaper!

Less he had a tape recorder, I didnt notice.

I thought about this too much...what a waste of time.

A good investigation would include looking at phone records of shooter where they would find he made call to Collins private line shortly before shooter went after Cal to kill him. Investigators could also find other calls and contacts between Collins and shooter. Collins would be implicated.

Sure, but you know what being a sex offender also gets you?

I agree. Doesn't look like Collins actually did anything. The pólice would get there and arrest him... for what?. Having someone followed?. They'd go to interview him, that's all. And it'd be obstruction of justice at the most, depending on what he told the police. And could they even prove that?.

Ben Affleck est un acteur épouvantable. Mais de là à l'envoyer en prison, c'est un tantinet excessif.
