Hollywood is sick!!!
How come twilight get sequels and this dont ....Money Money Money!!!!!
shareTwilight cost 37 million and made 390mil, even with marketing costs included it's still a smash hit. Also Twilight's audience enjoyed the film a lot.
Prince of Persia cost 200mil and that doesn't even include the marketing spend. The movie only made 336mil worldwide and studios at best get like 55% of the domestic gross and around 45% of the international gross. So the film was a flop. The reviews were poor and so were Twilight's of course but unlike Twilight Prince of Persia didn't satisfy enough of it's audience. There was absolutely no reason to make a sequel, it's not like the film was good.
I wonder if this film actually broke even at the end. It's total cost was about $300 million. It made $336 million WW of which the studio probably netted half ($168 million). I saw on another thread the profit/loss spreadsheet for several Sony films from the hack. It showed the theatrical and post theatrical net income for most films were about 50/50.
So if POP made another $160 million after it left the theaters it would have actually generated a slight profit so long as the budget and advertising spend was not actually understated.
You Never Go Full Retard
No, it's the audience who go see the bad movies who are sick. Hollywood is only trying to satisfy the audience's taste.
