I think he was perfect in the role.

Sorry. I like Gyllenhall, but I thought he was absolutely appaling in this. And I actually thought it was going to work. He did not fit the role at all, and had no gravitas. Giving the man long hair does not give him that dashing epic movie hero look, he looked like a nerd, and not someone you would follow into battle. In fact I was so uncomfortable with his performance that I didn't finish the movie.

There was one particular scene where Gyllenhall's character had been celebrating and drinking, his portrayal of drunk was putting an 'argh' before every line. Maybe it was the director's idea, either way, I thought Gyllenhall was very, very, very bad through the entire film. I'm not even an actor and there were countless times I seriously thought I could have delivered the lines better. and before i get smashed for that... I've NEVER done that watching any actor before.

Not trying to be insulting, that's just what I thought.

However, not many American actors do a good english accent, and his was good.

I'm going to admit it. I picked up this film *because* Jake Gyllenhaal is in it. He is a handsome man. That is the only reason I picked this, really. I haven't played the game, I think parkour is awesome and the parkour scenes were awesome, but I picked this up because I wanted to ogle Gyllenhaal.

=D and ogle I did! oh boy oh boy...running around with that cheeky smile and his shirt off or open...I liked it!

The film was cheesy and had some awful screenwriting...but Gyllenhaal was good, considering what he had to work with. Aterton, too. Really they all did good with the bad writing, I think.

And as far as films based on video games go, I think this is decent.

I think they did a pretty good job, aimed at a PG audience, great action scenes, and did credit to the gameSource:Prince of Persia sands of Time Reviewhttp://moviereviews.noskram.com/2011/06/prince-of-persia-sands-of-time -review

Very good, Louis. Short, but pointless.

I just finally bought the dvd after seeing the movie on the big screen three times last year, and I've just got to say I LOVE Jake in this.

After watching the movie the first time I played the video games (Sands of time trilogy) and I think they made the perfect choice by picking Jake for the role. He fits optically and also handled the action sequences well.

I'm just so glad they took a drama actor for an action role for ones, because a lot of actors who only do action movies lack a lot in the real acting department. Clearly not the case here.

i will be very honest. i was completely on the fence about the decision to cast him, but i think he played the part tremendously well. in fact, i doubt anyone could've done it better. he was absolutely amazing, but sadly people will dislike him being cast because people dislike him being cast.
it's a trend now.

I'm watching it right now. His fake accent is truly painful to listen to.
