I just saw a promo for Dee's new show called "The Mick". So does that mean her run with Sunny is over?
IMDB is showing "Always Sunny in Philadelphia" as a show that was 2005 - 2016. It's not ongoing. Do they know something everyone else doesnt?
They've signed until S14 and S12 will air in Jan next year, with her in it of course, so I wouldn't have thought so. Sunny is only 10 episodes a season these days and she doesn't write, so it's not that big of a commitment to be in another show at the same time. The trailer wasn't bad for The Mick. I'll give it a go.
shareIt really depends on what the commitment to the new show entails. Network shows tend to run longer seasons, and as the above poster commented, Sunny only runs a 10 episode season. Most network shows tend to shoot a season in up to 5 months, leaving plenty of time for actors to have other commitments. I wouldn't be surprised if Sunny shoots their entire season in a month considering how well they know their characters now, and since she doesn't write, she doesn't have any other commitment to the show other than playing Dee.
shareMaybe it's like when Damon Wayans Jr did the pilot for New Girl even though he was on Happy Endings at the time but expected it to be cancelled. She's just hedging her bets.
The Mick looks like the sort of show Fox would cancel after the initial order anyway.
