when did they decide that Mac was gay?

which episode was the first that there was indication about it? or when the others started to wonder

reply

When they found out he was banging the transsexual in season 1.

reply

Ever since season 1, when he starts dating the pre-op Trans woman.

For the millionth time guys, Mac banging Carmen was not a sign of him being gay, it was an example of how he is so vain and narcissistic that he would desperately take attention from anyone willing to give it. I'm not gay but, looking like that, I 100% would have at least let Carmen suck me off, dick or not.

reply

Fine, if not that then being disappointed that his old gym teacher didn't try to blow him, also season 1.

But those are both in the same vein. Mac was portrayed as incredibly needy, seeking validation. Dating a guy grossed him out, and he wasn't sexually attracted to the coach, he just wanted both of them to hake him feel worthy. The character was undeniably changed from that dissonance between physical reality and mental schemas to simply being closeted. Frankly it's lazy, removing dynamism from him.

Agree with this. Good points.

Against the faint background of reality, imagination spins out and weaves new patterns

reply

I agree as well, those examples seemed more because of his vanity. I never thought he was gay until like season 6, even during the nightman play that almost seemed like vanity to me on first watch lol.

reply

Hate to break it to you but if you'd let a pretty man before he did transgender surgery suck you off then you're gay or atleast bi.

Yup Mac is seeking love and attention where ever He can.

Mac isn't gay...

Mac is gay. No question. It's been a steady theme since (as many have said) season 1. The only reason it's a conflict for Mac, is due to his strict, religious views.

The mesh shirt. Constantly watching predator and commenting on men's physiques. Fake-banging the hot woman he is paying in Angel Dust.

He's gay, but he will always deny it. He is constantly confused, and any sexual relationship he happens to have with a woman in the show is out of pure confusion, convenience or personal gain for Mac.

This is it to a t. Nice work.

Mac has tried to kiss Dennis on more than one occasion. Let's not forget that.

The theme has been there since season 1. I think the first time the group actually addresses it outright is in "Mac Day". He takes them to a group of body builders to oil them up. They actually all come to an agreement that he's gay.

That episode also has one of the best side characters. Country Mac should have had a more recurring role.
