So did Dennis actually kill her?

They left it kind of vague at the end.

reply

They didn't leave it open at all. Dennis says "what about the footage of her dancing on the building like a moron and falling to her death" (or something similiar, too tired to remember the exact quote)

reply

But they never actually showed any footage. We only have his word for it.

reply

Maybe. He had a motive. He killed her so he could stop paying her alimony. Who knows maybe Dennis was pointing a laser beam at Maureen that's why she looked like she was prancing around but actually chasing after it until Dennis pointed it over the ledge.

reply

True, but since he's not in jail and the investigation seems to be over I think it's safe to assume the footage exists.

I think at worst he could have known she liked to play around on the roof and greased it so she would fall but that's just speculation.

reply

That fact that he's not in jail could simply mean that they don't have enough evidence yet to charge him. As for the investigation being over, again we only have Dennis' word for that.

I also find the marks on Sweet Dee's neck to be very suspicious. She claims it was the flea collar getting wet, but cats don't get burned when they're out in the rain. I suspect Dennis tried to strangle her after she snitched on him about all the crow killings, and now she's covering for him out of fear, like Frank said.

I think at worst he could have known she liked to play around on the roof and greased it so she would fall

Legally that WOULD be murder. He could legally be convicted of murder if they could prove he did that.

reply

Cats also have fur between their skin and the collar, and they probably have different tolerances than humans do.
But I like your theory that Dennis tried to strangle her. It's a bit dark even for this show but I could see him doing it, he's getting a lot crazier as he gets older. And it would even fit with the way he's been calling her a bird for years. He clearly likes to break their necks.

And I love that we're playing detective over this and analyzing all the clues like it's an actual murder case. :)

reply

You could be right about the fur.

Another thing I noticed was that Maureen's tail was cut off. If she fell off the roof accidentally why was her tail cut off?

reply

Was it cut off or did it just fall off when she landed?
I think it was just a fake tail that would have come loose from the force but considering she had a doctor who was going to give her extra nipples it's entirely possible she could have had a cat tail surgically attached as well.

And if it was cut off that would point to someone with a lot of aggression toward her doing the crime which is definitely Dennis.

reply

Both Charlie and Mac also acknowledge that their is and that they have seen the footage. They both said they didn't want to show it yet because they wanted to drag their show out. They were VERY clear that there is 100% proof he did not do it.

reply

Everyone was complaining that Dennis wasn't such a mastermind criminal and now you are saying he couldn't have done it?

Brilliant writing. I can't wait to see how it all turns out. I think it will turn out the catwoman attacked him and he juked and she fell off the building herself, so no murder.

In any case this is still pretty much the best show ever.

reply

It wasn't vague at all. When he referred to the security footage, Mac and Charlie didn't protest it all, basically conceding that they had also seen it. They were just being dicks and trying to make money from a show about Dennis being a murderer.

reply

Exactly. They specifically say at the end that he didn't kill her and the whole thing was Charlie and Mac using the sensationalism of what happened to make a quick buck at the expense of Dennis and the chick who died.

reply

"the chick who died"? Seriously? She had a name ― Bastet.

reply

Holy *beep* watch the *beep* show.

No Dennis will never, ever one time be portrayed as a murderer.

OP you need to change your mentality about things. That is not an opinion you *beep* jackass, that is a fact. You are whats wrong with society, and people like you are going to kill us.

Again. No Dennis Reynolds on IASIF is not a murderer, that's a big part of the running joke you *beep* PC mongrel inbred ape-mutant.

Go choke yourself on a rope. Just swallow rat poison before you try.

reply

Goodness gracious. Just to be clear - you realize we're talking about a TV show?

I mean, here you've written this obscenity laden, hate filled post wherein you wish for me to die because I engaged in a little bit of lighthearted speculation about a fictional character on a TV comedy show ... and you think I'm what's wrong with society? I'm the one who needs to change my mentality? It's people like me who are going to kill us?

Gosh I'd hate to see how you react to someone whose political views differ from yours.

Desperate to make a mark on the boards before they disappear forever, are we?

reply

It was crystal clearly implied she fell of the roof like a cat which made the whole thing extremely funny.

reply

He likely did do it. There is a reference at the end of this episode to how a good murder documentary doesn't reveal the truth until episode 10. Episode 10 of this season is called "Dennis' Double Life." The theory is that Dennis drugged her with cat tranquilizer and so when she would take her walk on the roof doing cat things, she would fall off. We'll see...

reply

They said they would only show the true at the end ( which is the tape of maureen falling) because they want to drag out the thing which is what tv programs do, they milk the whole cow which is sick, media sometimes are crows who eat the flesh of accidents and i would gladly break their necks 4 times.

But that theory is awesome and yeah we can't know for sure, guess it wasn't crystal clear afterall

reply

It seemed extremely clear to me that he didn't do it. They made obvious jokes that Charlie and mac were making the videos as a get rich quick scheme... I wish I had seen making a murderer already. I'm sure it'd make the episode better. I like your idea here that he did it secretly, but I'm still pretty sure it was meant to be a straight forward thing that he didn't do it.

reply

There were a few things, like the credits for one but did you watch The Jinx as well?
There was a funny reference to that too.

reply

Perhaps dennis knew very well where the camera was placed (he does even keep one running in his room 24/7) and used one of the items in his safe to commit the murder:

the laser pointer....
think back to the Trial of the Century episode...

the 'choking' this someone mentioned is interesting though.

excellent episode and the murder is chips thing was hilarious but my favorite thing had to be dennis becoming a dead shell for 2 hours straight with the presence of no one around lmao i laugh just thinking about that

Yeah. That's exactly what i've mentioned above. 2 hours without blinking. That is an angry stare buddy. For when you're too furious at someone your eyes is fixated on something fantasizing horrible things you could do to that someone who just pissed you off.

reply

it wasn't vague at all - that was the whole point

i was TV manipulating someones murder t get ratings - holding on to evidence, for the sake of ratigns, putting victim's familys through *beep* et

It's called an ongoing joke. Are we watching the same show? They even clearly said he wasn't the killer at the end. Why in the hell are people making nonsense theories about a murderer in a sitcom?
