The whole scene in the jungle when Flint Sky doesn't allow his son to question the other refugee villagers as to what happened made no sense... knowing what happened isn't the same as 'catching' fear or whatever Flint sky was going on about...
Instead they pick on the sterile chubby dude, have some sort of weird orgy like dance and leave themselves open to an attack which they kinda deserved.
I'm sure Flint and Jaguar Paw knew of the large city filled with royal freaks, chopping head and taking out hearts, so why not find out what made those other villagers flee [with many elderly disfigured for any sake]
