Should direct another Pre-Columbian movie, set in the Caribbean Islands
Mel should direct another Pre-Columbian movie set during the European invasion of Hispaniola and dealing with the aftermath of the Spanish conquistadors
Apocalypto was very good in it's depiction of the fall of the Mayan empire, but the Europeans showed up towards the very end of the movie, so we didn't get to see a depiction of the events dealing with European invasion! The story should start off with the peaceful Arawak and the arrival of Christopher Columbus, and how the local Indians deal with colonial rule.
We should see it not only through the eyes of the local peoples, but the colonials too, and how they deal with hostile competition between the French, Portuguese, British and Italians. The movie can make use of many different native languages, so as to be as authentic as possible! The movie should be RAW, with it's depiction of Cannibalism, Warfare, Slavery, Rape and cultural shock from European Religious Fundamentalists! No CGI should be in this movie what's so EVER!
