shareI know several Christians, some pretty well, and they aren't perfect, but are generally nice and kind, and certainly not as prejudiced and hateful as you make them out to be. At least, I've never heard them make sweeping stereotyped generalizations about an entire group of people, like the one in your post. I'd have to say that based on my experience, your description couldn't be any more inaccurate. They may be misguided when it comes to certain issues or ideas, but the ones I've met do more good, make more charitable donations, and get involved in more community service than any atheist I've ever met.
One of my friends and coworkers goes to a church that collected just over one ton of food and donated it to a secular food bank, no strings attached. They also bought backpacks and had them delivered to every student at a local elementary school, again, no strings attached. I might not agree with everything they believe, but they are at least motivated to do some good in our community, and not as a bribe or anything. Just to be helpful to those in need. I don't find any fault with that.
