So many easy ways to get back on the boat

I thought of these in the first few minutes. I'm sure you did too.

1. If you look at the bow/front of the boat, there's something sticking out that's lower than the sides, where they keep trying to get on. That coud've been grabbed much easier.

2. Making a rope out of the clothes was pretty obvious, and should've been tried sooner. No reason it couldn't have worked -- almost did the one time. (Why couldn't that wuss climb aboard with it?)

3. The life-jacket could've been used as the "hook" of the rope, to catch onto the wires better. The girl could've floated for awhile.

4. Anyone ever vault a child or friend into the air while in the water by cupping your hands and having them step into them, and then vaulting them over your shoulder? Could've easily done this and gotten someone up to the point where they could grab the wires.

5. Have one of the lighter girls climb on the inflatable dolphin. NOT one of the heaviest guys.

6. Finally -- people are naturallly bouyant. Two guys could've filled their lungs and held their breath while a girl stepped on their backs and reached the deck from there. (The deck is only about 4-5 feet over water level.)

This movie could only be credible if the deck was significantly higher than it actually was. Then, none of the above tricks may have worked. As it was, there's no reason most these couldn't have worked. Relatively easily.

Have you ever tried to climb on a large boat in deep water?

That's what I kept saying, why are the heavy guys the one climbing on everything and breaking everything.

I surely would've jumped off someone's back. We'd have made a pyramid if we had to.

I thought all of these things that are mentioned in this original post during first few minutes since they noticed the ladder gone. All of them would have worked. I would have done it with solution 4. I have done that a lot while floating on water. It should be even easier if two persons cupped their hands for this.

Was so annoying to watch when they didn't try anything obvious.

you are nitpicking, they were in panic mode when people think logically, that and everything you say sounds good in theory but when you are there in deep water like that it is actually alot tougher to do them things than you say, my point being that there was not by any meany 'so many easy ways to get back on the boat'

When the rope of torn clothes finally got hooked on something, Michelle should have been the one trying to climb up and not any of the guys. Of the 3 females, she seemed the tallest and the lightest in weight. Sure, she was in a state of panic, but sometimes being in that state, gives you that adrenaline that makes you act fast and on point. Something that also crossed my mind was having Michelle stand on one of the guy's shoulders and try to climb aboard. Yes, I know, it's easier said than done.

you can't make a pyramid in deep water. no matter if they 100 lb female was on top and the 250 lb guy was on bottom, he is going to sink as soon as someone is on his shoulders.

I am sure the producers tried this and lots of other things before they filmed it to be sure it would NOT work.
For some reason all 6 of the original group in Australia did die. So nothing they tried worked.

and human nature is the same everywhere, they would have thought of the same things we are thinking of.

If Amy really jumped back in and left her baby she probably thought ok the ladder is down so I can get back up. That would be true if:
1. she didn't get injured
2. A shark doesn't get her
3. Dan drag her down
4. Something happens to the ladder.

To me self preservation to help my baby would take over. Once on the boat I would not leave again. Call for help
