In real life, is it possible that it is imposible to lover the ladder from the outside of such boat?

In the movie, it's explained that Eric Dane's character never owned the boat. He was "borrowing" it from his boss.
So if no one on board was a legitimate mariner, it's at least conceivable that they'd get themselves into a situation like this
They're still stupid though, and it's still hard to fine a movie where people act more stupid than this
It's very stupid, but I think the way its depicted in the movie is actually believable.
shareI'd have to go with Carlito in Carlitos Way. He could have killed Benny right there in the back of the club but instead, Benny is thrown down the stairs and told never to come back. Benny later shoots him to death on the subway platform
