A Little Late for a Sequel!

Can not believe after all these years! No way, it won't work!

Trash it before someone goes broke!

How are you gonna top....

Patrick Swayze, Sam Elliott, Kelly Lynch and don't forget Jeff Healey?

This movie will fail miserably!

reply

I'll second that!

To make matters worse, Swayze was initially on board with this and then bailed. So then they decided to kill his character and reassign names. So Schaech played his son, if I have it right, but based on the timeline, he would have been a teenager at best, as someone mentioned elsewhere here. Very confusing, and none of it mattered as the movie was just dumb.

reply

Without Swayze, this could be a huge flop. I'm a little confused to why Swayze said no, it's not like he's been in any blockbusters the last 10 years...

reply

Agreed, Road House is one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time, and to do a sequel after all these years, is a waste of time and money I heard Shooter Jennings is gonna play Patrick Swayze's part, or maybe Joaquin Phoenix or hey maybe the greatest actor ever Hayden Christensen (Kidding he is terrible)...

reply

I know 11:14 wasn't a blockbuster but he was pretty good in it overall a good film

reply

no Pat Swayze this can't be any good. It should have him in it or at least have him killed off in the begining or something.

reply

Guaranteed this movie was called something else & had the title Road House 2 put on the film after it was completed by the studio. Sony did this before with 8MM2. Studios do this when they think a movie is going to be a dud.

reply

I know Sony suck the big one.....

But............ This movie was ONLY ever Roadhouse2, and before you write it off, please visit my site http://JohnathonSchaech.net and read my Latest News to view some positive pre release reviews.....

I must admit, Schaech was pretty good at convincing me he was the son of Patrick Swayze. Having the original back would have been far better, but credit where it's due.

I always thought a sequel would be a great idea. In fact, I thought about writing a story for it myself. I think Dalton (Swayze) would have become like Wade Garrett in the first one. Dalton could be the guy who's getting old, but he grooms a protege to become the next big superstar of coolers.

Road House was one of my all-time favorite movies, and I will be the first one at the video store renting this sequel. It will probably disappoint me. I really liked Ben Gazzara as Brad Wesley, but he was shot and went through the coffe table at the end of the first movie. Maybe they could have made Terry Funk the big bad guy in the sequel.

I think that's the idea most people favoured for Road House 2, but since Swayze wasn't in it this hasn't happened, instead we got Schaech looking after his uncle Will Patton's bar.

Sequels, for the most part, suck and this one was no exception. If it was a standalone movie with a different title it might have been at least tolerable. Then again people would say it would be a Road House rip off.
