Final act feels a bit rushed?

This is one of those rare long movies that I think actually could serve well to be a little bit longer. Does anybody else feel like the final act is a bit rushed? The first half to 2/3 of the movie is setting up a pace of a movie that should by all rights be 3+ hours long, but the last act just feels truncated in a way. This movie deserved more than 158 minutes imo. I guess Daniel's midlife would have been his period of success so maybe PTA didn't want to spend a lot of time "at the top of the mountain" and wants us focused on the rise and fall. But I also don't get why at the end H.W. is all grown up but Eli Sunday appears to be the same age.
