Quentin Tarantino

I haven't seen this yet, but I read a review on some website saying that they mention Quentin Tarantino's involvement in Halloween 6 before it became the crap-fest we know today. Can anyone tell me how in depth they go? I remember hearing the news over a decade ago that Tarantino was going to be involved in the series, and then being severely disappointed when he dropped out and I had to suffer through Part 6. No matter what he would have done with it, I'm sure it would have been better than "The Curse of Michael Myers."

I love Tarantino but I don't know if his version would have worked. Fangoria actually asked him about it a couple months back and he said that it would have Michael and the Man In Black hanging out at a coffee shop or something. I kid you not!

From fangoria.com

The filmmaker recognized that it would be up to him to pick up from the end of HALLOWEEN 5, where Michael Myers is freed from jail by the now-infamous man in black. “I thought *beep* the best part of HALLOWEEN II was the first 15 minutes, when Michael is trying to get out of suburbia. It was very BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN: The monster is now stuck in the village and the scenes are of everyone he bumps into until he gets the *beep* out. Well, that’s what Michael does in part two. He’s going through the backyards and going in through houses and someone’s kitchen and killing everyone along the way. That *beep* was magnificent; then when it got to the hospital, it totally fell apart.

“Anyway, using that idea, I had a whole thing with the man in black,” Tarantino continues. “I hadn’t figured out who he was. It was leaning toward something demonic, but I didn’t go there. I also thought he could’ve been a bounty hunter, a Lee Van Cleef character. I didn’t write it down, but what I would’ve done is [have HALLOWEEN 6 begin with] 15 or 20 minutes of just the man and Michael having left the jail. What it takes to get him out of sight. He literally takes him to a diner, they sit down, *beep* happens at the diner, they have to escape, they go to someplace else, *beep* goes down at the motel, they have to go someplace else. And I would’ve stayed with them as the man in black worked out with Michael whatever they were trying to do. The thing is, they have to take a road trip, so they’re on the road—which is not impossible ’cause Michael knew how to drive all over the place.”

Whoa, that's really interesting. I had no idea that he had any connection to Halloween 6 at all. Thanks for posting this!

Lol I am almost certain Tarantino was joking about his whole concept for H6 it sounds very "From Dusk Till Dawn" them in a diner, in a motel and on a road trip.
