What was the purpose of the scene where Dent interrogates Thomas Schiff?
It seems like the purpose is to show that he always had a dark side, but that contradicts the message later in the movie, that even the best people can be driven mad enough to do terrible things. That message doesn't really work if he always had a dark side.
