Good villains since the Joker

Heath Ledger redefined villains after this. Now there's hardly anyone good ones anymore. The only one I liked this year was Zemo in Captain America: Civil War. Jared Leto could have been good but was cut out so much. But here's some I could think of.

Hans Landa in Inglourious Basterds
Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness
Calvin Candie in Django Unchained
Krueger in Elysium
Loki in Marvel Cinematic Universe
Immortan Joe in Mad Max: Fury Road
Raoul Silva in Skyfall

Depends on what you constitute as a "movie villain." I'll name a few that I would consider exactly that.

Bane in The Dark Knight Rises
Lane in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation
Young Magneto in new X-Men Trilogy
Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Howard in 10 Cloverfield Lane
The Polite Leader in The Purge
Amy Dunne in Gone Girl
Fletcher in Whiplash

I agree. He redefined an established character as now being boring, unfunny and not intimidating.

But you found Trevor Sluttery from Iron Man 3 a great villain? I mean... You're an idiot, you know that?

Your list is pretty solid except I would add bane and the ape from dawn of the planet of the apes
