Question for non-Batman fans and non-Nolanites only!

I fully agree with this film's '9' rating, but what do genuine non-Batman fans and non-Nolanites (ie: neither a Batman fan nor a Nolanite) think of it?

This is a genuine question.

An opinion is not offensive just because you do not agree with it.

What is your definition of Nolanite? I enjoy most of Nolan's films, but I admit their flaws and don't bend over backwards to defend any movie, let alone one of his. For context, I think BB and TDK are fantastic films that I view more as crime dramas than action flicks-- especially TDK. Meanwhile, I see TDKR as a steaming pile of shít that is so terrible that it actively tries to ruin the previous films in the series with its nonsense. I saw it once in theaters and never intend on watching it again. It simply doesn't exist in my head cannon.

Nolanites are out there, but I haven't seen any of them on this board on a regular basis in some time. Oddly enough, they usually populate the Marvel movie boards these days.

Someone who has confused Nolan's talent for genius and is hostile to those who don't agree with them.

For me, it was more like 'I was blind, but now I see', where 'Nolan's knight rises' is concerned.

But are you a Batman fan?

I'm both a Batman fan and a Nolan fan, so I was probably the last person you were looking to talk to. As I said, the Nolanites have moved on for the most part, now we only have to contend with the other side of the spectrum-- a few cranks who hate this movie so much yet can't seem to stop talking about it. Avoid them if you can.

Thanks, but I'm actually interested in what those with no 'bias' think of the film. I often wonder how I'd view Batman movies if I didn't actually like Batman.

Do you really often wonder about that?

How often do you wonder about it? Is it once a month? Once a week?

I give this film a 6. 7 tops. Considering that films like Se7en, The Usual Suspects, Jaws, Apocalypse Now, and many more off the Top250 are rated lower than TDK, I consider it extremely overrated.
Then taking into account the fact that masterpieces like Boogie Nights, Andrey Rublev, Seven Beauties, The French Connection, Papillon, Barry Lyndon, etc. aren't even in the Top250, I will go as far as to say that ratings on this site are a joke. Good for a few references, but not to be taken seriously.
The Dark Knight rated 9.0 and at the 4th spot in front of ll the aforementioned is a prime example of that.

I am a Batman fan and these films are absolute teal and orange crap.

Being a fanboy of the original Tim Burton's movies doesn't make you a Batman fan. It makes a fan of Tim Burton's Batman, who's very loosely related to the actual Batman from the comics.
