Wasn't even nominated

for best picture?

reply

No, but the outcry is allegedly the reason as to why the Academy has since expanded the number of Best Picture nominees.

reply

Right, which would allegedly lead them to nominate TDKR to make up for it, LOTR style. Oh wait...!

reply

Well TDKR was a dumpster fire, so that wasn't going to happen regardless.

The future is in the hands of a man who has none.(As in no future, as opposed to no hands.)

reply

This definitely deserved to win the Best Picture award. Not just be nominated for it.

Right on!

Because it wasn't even that good of a crime drama movie. It has very cringe-worthy moments in the script, obscene plotholes, and an very preachy over-the-top theme.

If you want a good crime drama that was nominated for an Oscar, try L.A. Confidential. It has action and non-super heroes.

Just out of curiosity, two questions: 1) If you could summarize the "over-the-top preachy theme" of TDK in a sentence or two, what would it be?

2) Does it bother you that the climax of L.A. Confidential (which I love, BTW) requires Dudley Smith to execute the worst-planned ambush in the history of ambushes in order for the end of the movie to play out?

reply

yeah no idea...

it certainly deserves some accolade for it's overall experience from start to finish... not to mention featuring one of the best performances in cinema
