There's absolutely no way this film is better than...

Pulp Fiction, Seven Samurai, Casablanca, Psycho, The Shining, Goodfellas, Seven, TSOTL, A Clockwork Orange, or even Fight Club.

Just to name a few.

I could see this as a solid 8.3 or 8.4. It's good, yes, but not '#4 all time consensus on the biggest user movie rating site on the web'-good. I'm lost. The second half of the movie was not as memorable as the first, even. If we're talking classics, there's no way this movie outdoes those I mentioned, even if I missed a couple, which I did.

Someone explain it to me.

It's obviously the best of the trilogy and should be rated higher than TDKR (that movie was LAME). I just can't see, beyond rabid comic book fanboys, how this movie beats out something like Goodfellas in cinema canon. I don't want to ruffle feathers but come on, how can anyone say this is better than any of those? Objectively.

Someone explain it to me.

1. Not everyone shares your opinion on film.

2. IMDb does not tell people to rank every movie in history. People vote by rating it 1-10, the site calculates the overall rating by averaging those votes and produces a top 250 ranking using those results.

Objectively.

Are we talking personal opinion on content or the actual crafting of the film? It's impossible to say one thing is superior to another, objectively, if everyone is not using the same criteria to judge.

I think TDK is a great flick, but it's not in my top 10. Then again, the only flick you mentioned that would be in my top ten is Fight Club-- my favorite comedy of all time. They're all solid flicks, just not top ten for me.

The IMDb list does not say that any movie is any better than any other movie and those who vote do not give a list of their favorite movies.

The list is an averaged rating based on a numerical system. Voters are not asked to list movies in order of preference they are asked only to give each movie its own individual rating between one and ten.

Beyond that; 'The Dark Knight' is better than at least three of the movies on your list of supposedly better movies.

See how that works?

No one really is. Most people just vote on how much they enjoyed a movie. They don't take every other single movie into consideration when they do.

Don't sweat it. All you have to do is realize not every one votes with the exact same criteria as you do.

Seize the moment, 'cause tomorrow you might be dead.

They can't.

It just most people love it more than you do, is it really hard to understand?

The Dark Knight *beep* on all the movies you mentioned, except for Pulp Fiction and Fight Club.

I dont want to ruffle any feathers, but how can anyone who isnt a pretentious douche be entertained by the movies you listed?
